Eating Disorders Binge Eating Disorders

A Sure Sign Of Weight Loss Disaster

There are many harmful and dangerous eating disorders that are effecting people from every race, sex, economic level and age difference.  While much of the information is heard about popular cases involving anorexia or bulimia, a lesser known evil amongst the weight loss disasters is the one associated with eating disorders binge eating.  Overeating or binge eating disorder is extremely bad for you in the sense that it causes many of the known diseases today such as heart disease, diabetes and so many other negative health conditions which can easily lead to death.

That's why it's vital that people understand overeating or binge eating in order to seek the professional advice and help needed, especially if this is a problem for you or someone close to you.

Binge eating disorder is simply an aspect of overeating or compulsive eating disorder.  Most of us have had times in our lives where we have faced overeating, especially during times of celebration such as holidays, birthdays, weddings and so on.  We have even faced overeating when visiting our favorite restaurants.  The problem is that overeating or binge eating goes beyond this and usually occurs many times during the week.  People who are trapped with binge eating disorder will almost always find that they are overweight and obviously very unhappy, which simply means added problems of depression, stress and more.

People who suffer from binge eating disorder generally overeat so much that they make themselves sick.  Sometimes, these same people will eat more calories at one sitting and much of the food they eat is just known as comfort food which basically has no nutritional value at all.

Most of these comfort foods are just sugar based such as sweets, candies, pastries, cakes, sodas and more.  Some of these binge eaters will even be so depressed or stressed that they will consume as many calories in a day that an average person consumes in a week.  And here is something important to know as well regarding binge eating disorder.  The foods that binge eaters will eat can vary drastically with each person from day to day, which means that they are not addicted to a certain food item.

Now, for those people who might be suffering from bulimia, people with binge eating disorder will not go through the vomiting stage to relieve themselves of the food that they have just eaten.  That's why people who suffer from binge eating disorder are usually overweight.  In some instances, people with binge eating disorder can even eat and consume food for a whole day.  However, they can also end up starving themselves for days and working out with the hopes of not gaining excess weight or the need to stay at their current weight.

Binge eating disorder is obviously related to many other physical type diseases, however, the effects are going to be totally different and can involve some mental or emotional problems as well.  One of ways that some of the mental or emotional problems are solved for many people is to eat comfort food.  Binge eating disorder is no different as a lot of it revolves around comfort food.  Regardless of whether you are overweight or not, binge eating is serious and something that can affect people around them as well.  This is definitely not an avenue for losing weight for anyone.
