Healthy Foods To Eat

Posted by Kevin on Thursday, September 8, 2011, In : the diet solution program
As I slowly work through the changes that I am making in my lifestyle and learning more about what healthy foods to eat, which both my wife and I are still amazed with.  I can easily see how most things happen when it comes to poor eating habits and gaining weight.  Even though my cravings for white rice everyday are still there, I've learned more what it was doing to me weight wise or at least how the rice addiction was contributing to my overall weight.  On the other hand, it's kind of funn...

Good Bye To Summer and Hello To The Holidays!

Posted by Kevin on Tuesday, September 6, 2011, In : motivation
Well, the end of summer has finally come.  Kids are officially back at school and now it is time to prepare for the fall season and eventually winter.  The past summer months have been very hot and dry with very little rain, which usually means the upcoming winter season will probably be cold with a lot of snow in the forecast.  Let's hope it stays in the mountains!

During the next few weeks, I'll be spending time winterizing things around the house and getting things ready for the freezing we...

Posted by Kevin on Sunday, September 4, 2011, In : good nutrition
Most people don't even think about this ingredient as being something healthy for you, but it does offer qualities that could easily make it one of the healthiest spices in the world for you to eat.  It's plain old CINNAMON!.

Cinnamon has the ability to help control your blood sugar levels, maintain your bodies insulin sensitivity, added antioxidant properties, plus numerous other health benefits that you can get from eating it.

One of the latest studies on cinnamon was published in the Medical...

Diet Facts Or Myths

Posted by Kevin on Tuesday, August 30, 2011, In : diet solution
Most experts in the diet industry like to rouse attention to what they call “Diet Facts” and other people like to call them “Diet Myths.  To me, that's just more of the same reasons why I've always been so pessimistic about diets, mainly because of all the misunderstanding, misinformation, false promises, so called diet facts and diet myths that go back and forth and the enormous amount of hype that is generally built around the weight loss industry.

No matter where you look, people are ...

Is The Ninety Percent Rule Cheating Or Is It A Reward

Posted by Kevin on Sunday, August 28, 2011, In : fat loss diets
Many diets today for weight loss and even diets for nutrition and muscle building have all started to add something what is called “cheat meals” or “cheat days”.  These are basically meals that are set aside from the regular diet program that you are on and allowed to cheat by eating something that is off your diet menu plan.  Of course, many of these diets have their own rules or guidelines to follow regarding cheat meals, but the principles and goals are pretty much the same.

Much of...

It's Great Having The Extra Support

Posted by Kevin on Thursday, August 25, 2011, In : motivation
Well, it is week number 8 of my weight loss journey and have found very little difficulty staying on track and making those wiser and healthier food choices.  During the last two months most of my time has been spent on making healthier choices in my life and learning new recipes or at least new ingredients to old recipes.  It's hard to believe that I can go grocery shopping with my wife and actually not have any cravings for many of the junk foods that we used to buy.

Yes, even my wife has ...

Getting Back Into Weight Training

Posted by Kevin on Monday, August 22, 2011, In : weight loss workouts
Ever Since I was in high school and college, I'll never forget how most of my coaches would explain that weight training was not just about getting stronger, but also a good way to stay trim.  This very same philosophy is true today as weight training exercises can accelerate your weight loss goals.  Of course, most people are under the impression that lifting weights is only for those that seek to gain muscle mass and much of this has been supported through myths over the years.  You can eas...

Dealing With Food Cravings

Posted by Kevin on Saturday, August 20, 2011, In : the diet solution program
I have read many articles how people on diets have continuously run into problems with food cravings and the extreme desire to want some kind of food that will satisfy their taste buds.  While food cravings may be simple enough for others to handle and overcome, many people will end up with weight loss failure simply because of their cravings.  Since most diets are considered to be strict in order to achieve weight loss, a persons food cravings can change how well you will do while on your in...

Concentrate On Small Changes

Posted by Kevin on Thursday, August 18, 2011, In : motivation
I have read many articles and talked with dozens of people who have claimed that many of the so-called weight loss diets and physical fitness programs have failed them in their own personal attempts to get in better shape through dieting and exercising.  I can't argue with them since I've always been somewhat skeptical of many weight loss diets that have been advertised over the years.  There's so many choices for people and what they actually end up with is information overload.

For example...

Finding The Solution To My Problem

Posted by Kevin on Wednesday, August 17, 2011, In : the diet solution program
August 17

Now that I found a solution to my problem the first thing I started was to briefly cover the program, but only going over the basics of what is expected and how this can benefit me.  The diet solution program to put it simply is not a diet at all, but a program based on making healthier choices in your life.

There's no doubt that I have made some bad choices regarding my health and the foods that I eat.  I guess I'm guilty of the fact based on some of my past food choices, especiall...

It's Time To Make A Choice

Posted by Kevin on Wednesday, August 17, 2011, In : fat loss programs
I've never really been a person who has had to think about dieting or even weight loss.  Over the years I have tried to stay active doing some kind of physical activity such as sports and working out at the gym.  However, I did slow down a bit with the gym workouts the last two years and once being active in Judo, I'm lucky to even visit a class now.  My lack of interest in the gym and working out with Judo has mostly been due to work, but than again, that is only an excuse.

Of course, it didn...

Somethings Wrong, This Can' Be Right

Posted by Kevin on Tuesday, August 16, 2011, In : fat loss diets
Weight loss is something that I really didn't want to tackle or even think about this year, especially when I had other pressing matters that seemed more important in my life.  To give you a little background as to my physical stature, most of my adult life has been spent on the larger scale of life, so to speak.  At five foot ten inches and weighing over 200 lbs. For the last twenty years, my weight always seemed normal and something that was comfortable to me.  I never really thought of mys...
