Well, I made it through Thanksgiving and Christmas without any real problems with my weight. I think the biggest problem that I had was not having enough time to accomplish everything that I wanted to get done. In a way, this actually helped with not overeating the holiday treats that were available. However, I did manage to sneak in some of my favorites, after all, it is the holidays!
One thing that I have noticed over the last 5 or 6 weeks is the rising popularity of healthy eating. Not just for those trying to lose weight, but also the improvement of ones personal health.
There are even several ads on television that started sometime in December that encourage more healthy eating. This is a good sign for those of us who are following a more healthy approach to lifestyle changes and what we are eating, but it is also a sign that experts are finally realizing that there is an increasing problem with obesity.
I have also read several articles and posts that say this type of encouragement of healthy eating always seems to surge at the end of each year, that it is really nothing new. However, I totally disagree with that.
I honestly believe that health experts not only realize that there is a rising problem with people being overweight, but that it is also getting to the point where it can actually be an epidemic. Weight loss programs and fat loss diets are popping up everywhere as businesses are taking advantage of the billion dollar market.
While it is evident that there are more overweight people today than that of 10 or 20 years ago, the good news is that something more beneficial can be brought about because of it. Of course, that is choosing to live a more healthier lifestyle and start enjoying life again!
