Most people don't even think about this ingredient as being something healthy for you, but it does offer qualities that could easily make it one of the healthiest spices in the world for you to eat.  It's plain old CINNAMON!.

Cinnamon has the ability to help control your blood sugar levels, maintain your bodies insulin sensitivity, added antioxidant properties, plus numerous other health benefits that you can get from eating it.

One of the latest studies on cinnamon was published in the Medical Journal, Diabetes Care in 2003 where a group of 60 people who had type ll diabetes took part in a clinical research test.  The findings of the test showed that after given three different amounts of cinnamon per day (the equivalent to a quarter teaspoon) each amount decreased the fasting blood glucose levels between 18 – 29% after a 40 period.

Increasing insulin sensitivity with cinnamon, which basically means that cinnamon can help your body with the control of blood sugar.  This will at the same time allow your body to produce less insulin levels.  And, in case you are not aware of it, high levels of insulin can lead to extra fat.

You can add cinnamon to your meals in many different ways such as with oatmeal, sprinkle on your favorite fruit, sprinkle it on toast, or add it to your cooking.  Cinnamon is a very inexpensive ingredient that you can use to help improve your health and maybe even help with losing weight by helping to control your blood sugar levels.
